Cricket Betting

Cricket BallCricket Betting can be a great way to make money from the sport that we all love following. Whether we bet just a couple of pounds or a much larger chunk of money, the thrill of winning when our selected team wins only adds to the excitement of the game. In a way, betting can make us feel a lot more involved, giving us something to celebrate or commiserate personally at the end of each match or tournament.

There are many different types of bets that you can place on cricket events, but the most popular ones year after year are as follows:

Match Bets – As the name suggests, these bets revolve around the outcome of an individual match, and your aim is to pick the team that wins. With just two possible outcomes, the odds available won’t be spectacular, but they do reflect the fact that you have a good chance of winning.

Tournament Bets – These are much harder to succeed with than Match Bets, because the aim here is to select the team that will win the whole tournament rather than a single match. The good news is that the odds available for selections are correspondingly bigger, so if you are confident that you can narrow things down to two or three teams, you may be able to back all of them and still make a profit no matter which one wins.

Match Score – If you are the kind of cricket enthusiast who would like to try and predict how many runs a team will score in a certain match, you can place a match score bet and make a profit if you are right. Bets usually cover a range of scores, so you would bet on a team scoring something like 100-110 runs rather than an exact number like 107. Whilst this makes the task of winning slightly easier, match score bets are still pretty challenging, so you will get good odds and walk away with a decent profit if you manage to win.

Top Batsman – If you place a top batsman bet you will need to predict which batsman will score the most runs in a match. It is not as difficult to win here as it is in the Match Score market, but it certainly isn’t as straightforward as predicting the winning team in an individual match.

Of all these markets, the Match Bets market is the one to focus on if you want to win fairly regularly (assuming you can pick winning teams – see our Cricket Tips page for pointers). If you don’t mind winning less often in the hope of landing a bigger profit when you do succeed, the other options are all worth taking a look at.
